@ooyohm20 eehh, sorry I don't believe in love at first sight. Attraction yes, but the love at first sight argument doesn't work for me. I don't think love works that way. I think you can idealize a person after seeing a few good qualities about them and put them up on a pedestal in your mind, but that's not the same as love.

@DragonflyandTheWolf I see where you are coming from, but this love he had was not one that developed as they get to know each other. I think if you watched when they first met, you can tell it was love at first sight for both of them. Even if Keller knew he was going to meet Beecher and make him weak, He felt in love with Beecher at that instant no matter what his job was.

@DragonflyandTheWolf BTW, Keller is well aware of this. He said it himself in the scene with Sister Pete, talking about how easy it was to get his ex Bonnie to fall in love with him becasue she was all alone and very unhappy. Keller is amazingly astute when it comes to manipulating people, which is what makes him so scary and interesting at the same time as a character.

@DragonflyandTheWolf Good point. When one's state of mind is so messed up it is easy to cling to the first instance of comfort that comes along, and in his case it just happened to be Keller. I can say this because it has happened to me - all it takes is one sentence to suddenly change your perception of the person in front of you, so "a few episodes" is not actually that swift a process. Call it infatuation, desperation, whatever, but it certainly felt like falling in love.

@funnysideofthebar What's so brave?

I am beyond words - how brave this guy is...
To suddenly find those feelings in yourself... And to analyse them ... and to come out with them ... And not in a 10 freaking years span. I think he's amazingly brave. But maybe that's just because my first, and second, and third impulse is to hide everything I feel, just to be on the safe side.

I do love this couple, which is why I hate to say this, and I know I'll have fans who may strongly disagree with me, but for Toby to fall in love so quickly after only a few episodes doesn't seem quite right. Actually, it seems more due to his post traumatic stress from his experiences in the first season. After so much abuse he finally has one person showing him compassion and giving him physical comfort. I think he's confusing love for gratitude. Still love the couple though.
