Either way the burden to explain virgin births, walking dead, genocide, homicide, talking bushes, talking snakes, several hundred year old people, billions of plants and animals fitting on a boat, and basically hundreds of other examples of magic from the "space daddy" is ahead of you. The morals and ideas of a diety are either eternal or they were ideas concieved by man. And what about the 20+ gospels that were left out???

@TheAzureFish well having been raised mormon I can say they have very similair doctrines to most christians sure they have the whole sailing to the new world thing which is bs but is it any more bs then that the entire population of the earth decends from two people who were formed out of dirt (one indirectly) and that a impossible global flood happened? Mormons and Christians are about equally crazy from extensive experience dealing with both.

JS was a fraud for sure. If one were to replace JS with CD and the TOE in Dawkins statement, it would be equal in meaning as the original statement made. Even "that" religion is a fraud yet is pushed as fact. The fact is: No one can explain existance and even the TOE is fantasy, as the world was flat some few and a couple of hundreds of years ago. There is an uncanny ironic parallel in the statement, yet brainwashed society would call me absurd eventhough the burden of proof remains.

Mormons are not any crazier than the faithful of any other religion. It is just as absurd to believe any part of the bible as to believe in J. Smith. Wouldn't it be refreshing to have an avowed atheist or even agnostic running for presidient?

come on mister dawkins my family was mormon and I was raised mormon they really arent that crazy... well at least not any more crazy than other religous groups. Sure joseph Smith was a fraud but nearly all presidents belive in what is so clearly a myth that grew over time based on fanatic followers (jesus) Romney is equal to all other canidates.
