  • Just because he's a celebrity does not mean his opinion should be considered above any one else's. I would of much rathered to see a random smart person than this joke. "Hip hop culture is hip hop culture?" Is he really trying to inspire people to change with what he is saying?

  • Wanted to give "hip hop culture" quote context. The question asked was, "How do you bring a new awareness that encourages less consumption in hip hop culture?" His answer was in response to that. He was saying it's hard ot change a culture, but you can little by little.

  • Apolar Bear will get exhausted just like how we get exhausted and they then become weak and drown and thats the same with penguins and penguins need to breath.

  • Earthquakes arent changed by global warming its just all the plate movements which is no effect wil not create effects so Wyclef Jean chose bad example tool.

  • For the global-warming sceptics, ask someone from the Maldeves if they are concerned about climate change.

    Really, do it.

  • Polar bears are highly specialised to thrive in Arctic conditions, Penguins are highly evolved to thrive in Antarctic conditions. They might not go extict over night, but they wont have a habitat of thier own and will loose massive numbers which will have a detrimental effect on thier gene pool.

How much life was on the early earth? None? Correct.

  • Al Gore is spreading lies for the sake of his own personal profits and the profits of his elite banker friends! Anthropogenic climate change is false science!! Please wake up everyone don't allow your liberties to be signed away!

  • Everyone:

Polar bears are the best swimming land animals known to man; they are not drowning.

Penguins are the best swimming birds; they are not drowning.

CO2 is a gas that is intimately connected to the metabolism of life. The levels of CO2 we see today are but a minor fraction of what they were in early earth's atmosphere. It is not a significant greenhouse gas.

  • I'm glad that Grist finds hip hop culture to have an influence on the public. I'm ecstatic that a culture based mostly on mediocrity and demeaning women is something we should praise and use to pass on a positive message!

    Praise Hip Hop!

  • omg dude your nuts. carbondioxide is needed for photosynthesis to happen. cut the crap already. i mean seriously are you people still fallin for this garbage?

  • Michael, you can find anything you want on the web...but go to the source. i have been to Kiribati in the south pacific where rising water has already forced evacuations of islands. Have you seen any research on melting glaciers or info from Greenland or the poles. Have you seen the latest data from Mauna Loa atmospheric research showing CO2 levels higher then in a million years? How could anyone call these factors a hoax ????

  • actually my uneducated friend it is a hoax. there has been some compelling evidence lately. keyword search for you friend would be cru emails hacked. search that then read the corresponding articles. then get back with us on your viewpoints. oh and remember who stands to ear billions Al Gore and his cap and trade corporation which will sell of course carbon credits. have a good one peace.
