Andra Gillespie, assistant professor of political science, examines political mobilization and race, as well as competition between minority groups. She discusses the progress in race relations indicated by the Obama presidency, and how Hispanic groups have contributed to the position of black leadership today.

@srandallthomas And I have not resorted to name calling. I only question the currently orthodoxy on want constitutes racism. Would you mind being a bit less amorphous about this "required knowledge?" And what exactly are so-called "minorities"? And aren't you assuming a lot about me simply because I am white?

@landline00 I never said "racism can only be understood by minorities". In fact, I've implied that to many so-called "minorities" don't understand the meaning of "racism". As to black guys with white girls, the White House, and the NBA, it has absolutely nothing to do with the masses of black people in this country or anywhere else for that matter. Now I'm being as courtesy as I can be with you. I told you before you do not posses the required knowledge to debate this with me.

@landline00 Okay just as I expected. My brother we can't have this conversation because you lack the requisite knowledge to engage me intelligently. The only thing we can do is name call, which is cool I like to vent. Yet I really can't spend much time doing that. You obviously don't understand the nature of "racism" so what would be the point in continuing when that was my point exactly, that our problem is one of language. You can not understand when I speak. But hey, believe what you wish.

@srandallthomas Racism is whenever a non-white person stubs their toe, doesn't get chosen for a job, or is refused a home mortgage.
Racism also occurs whenever a pretty blonde refuses to a date a black guy (which isn't too often these days).

@landline00 Again we have a problem with language. Let's begin again. You tell me what "racism" is. Perhaps I agree with you, let's see if we are speaking the same language.

@srandallthomas Are you intimating that she is privileged and that you come from a hardscrabble background? Do you believe that a disparity in achievement is tantamount to racism? If so, how do you explain Asians and Arabs earning more than whites? Btw, please don't bore me with the usual tropes and memes such as, "racism is alive and well" and "blacks experience racism innumerable times everyday." And yes, I am the one of the aqua-eyed devils that steals away the happiness from people of color.

@landline00 I'm guessing that you are white. I'm black. The problem is that you don't know what "racism" is. What's worst is that I'm pretty sure that this chick has no clue either. I can understand white people not understanding what "racism" is, but for the life of me, I can't understand why black people "educated black people" can't seem to understand this either.

This is simply more of the same PC, multiculti, groupthink that you hear all the time. Progressives like Dr. Gillespie believe that "racism" is everywhere.
I guess the only solution would be to make all whites disappear???
