True that!! But the surgical blade makes it completely diff then any other clipper! Like scissors!!!

@EDDTHEBARBER88 Actually the blade is the only difference. The housing is exactly the same. I have 3 pair of Masters. All equally the same. The only difference is 1 has fade blade, 1 has master (000) blade and 1 has the Phat master blade. This set up covers everything.

I put the Phat Master blades on my Andis Masters to have a longer cut while wolfin in the winter. They work great. Then I got another set of masters on ebay and put my original blade on them. Two sets of masters for about $120 the first set was brand new while the ebay set was hardly used.

I use the improved master and the wahl 5 star senior.. andis clippers require more maintenance and get hot faster.. but the andis master has the taper levels notched on the side so u can see the level.. that's a big help.. most clippers don't have that.. they're both good.

@boombapswag92... well the regular andis master is able to use guards without eating away at them.. being that the fade made is shaped differently, if u put a regular guard on a fade master blade, it will make a loud clanking noise which will chip away at the guards, making them easier to break. The andis fade master wasn't designed for guards and neither was the andis phat master. the fade master was made for low fading!!! That's it.. I will go with the improved master clipped with guards.
