Patty was kidnapped, threatened, abused, and tortured. The jurors had a hard time swallowing "too big a pill" when the prosecutor brought up the fact that she did not leave the van when she was alone and the Harris couple was in Mel's. She could not get to a phone while she cris crossed the country, she did not pop Wendy on Morse Street and run, etc. Also, Bailey did not do the best job defending her, he spoke of the rugby players who ate each other, spilled water on himself, and was too quick.

No, she wasn't responsible. If you think of her as a military prisoner, which she was, you might view it differently. If you were in Iraq and kidnapped by insurgents and they made you do something awful, would it be your fault? All you were trying to do was stay alive.

it's unreal how many of you UNINFORMED people comment on things you know NOTHING about. do research. put yourself in her situation: she was minding her own business in her OWN apartment when she was KIDNAPPED by WACKOS!!). there were NO cell phones, NO TEXTING, NO Fax machines, and NO INTERNET! please no negative opinions unless you can back it up. she was kidnapped because her dad was RANDOLPH HEARST.go educate yourself! and while you're at it, contribute to society.
