Planting my 2008 soybean crop on 18 May with my 1963 D17 and JD 494A planter. I modified the outside seed hoppers to allow planting 30" rows and split each row to obtain 15" rows.

  • I planted with a WD last year that had 33 HP. This D17 is about 54HP. I think 25-30HP might be the minimum

  • dairy farmer gone grain? would make me feel better. I can't take much more of the hobby stuff. My farmall m and john deere B planter are getting old. Run 120 acres with that thing see how you feel, you won't throw your hat at the end more likely punch someone. Thank you for the video.

  • I pull a 290 2-row corn planter with a Kubota BX2200 4x4 22hp for planting my sweet corn. Pulls very easy.

  • wide and plain!

  • Great video! How much HP do you think it would take to pull that planter? Was that the same 4.75 acre field as you first video?

  • way way cool!
