Harbor Light SF Social Impact Report 2010-2011

Located in San Francisco, California, Salvation Army's Harbor House Transitional Housing at Harbor Light Center is a state licensed chemical dependency program for single parent (mothers or fathers) homeless families seeking a self sustaining life.

Harbor House provides an integrated, supportive environment that encourages confidence and independence through recovery, workforce solutions, education, skills enhancement; individual and family counseling. Together families and staff engage change through a professional therapeutic process. We also, offer employment guidance, job preparation, parenting classes, facilitation of process groups, weekly house meetings, along with family oriented activities.




Through our partnerships and joint ventures, Harbor House is able to provide a safety net in the midst of economic uncertainty.




We now have a veterans program at Harbor House focused on OIF and OEF; we are working with newly returned men and women with children, who have served our country.

•90% of graduates attain permanent employment
•87% of graduates find permanent housing
•All families save a minimum 10% of their income
