Patti Smith sings to her cat

From the documentary "Patti Smith: Dream of Life", released 2008. I'm still not sure about the song/poem, but it's a beautiful performance.

I also have a cat story to share: me and a friend (also a musician) were walking along the street one morning. suddenly a black cat appeared out of nowhere and approached us. we're both really fond of cats so we stopped and started talking to it. my friend knelt down next to the cat and the cat literally offered him his paw! So they 'shook hands', the cat purred and it went its way, leaving me and my friend in quite a shock. It looked as if it only came to say hallo! What an agreeable kitty!

Your English is much better than my Italian! That's a tricky one -- the word you used isn't quite right, but it's very close.  The exact translation would be "esteeming", a more colloquial way to say it would be "admiring", "appreciating", or "honoring".

soo while we are on the subject of cat stories. the neighbors used to have a 'feral' cat which disappeareda couple years after they moved. i used to feed it sometimes. just recently it has returned ~ showing up at my doorstep all the time. as other story, it will not come inside. if i leave a plate of food for it inside the doorway it will leave after finished. oh!! by the way Patti Smith ~ Stupendous ; D one of my primary influences ~ as a musician ~ started listening to Easter at age 10.
