Emotions I relate to this song are: grief, hope, despair, resignation, requiem, fear, anger, protest, and anything serious. The composer's hand-written sketch implies the inspiration of "Sugihara's List." The original performance (piano trio; full version) has been on the composer's website since April 2004.

オリジナルはピアノ・トリオによるものです（上記サイトをご参照下さい）．「山下邦彦著: 坂本龍一の音楽」に掲載された譜面をもとにピアノ・ソロにアレンジしました．この曲について教授曰く「100メートルぐらい深い『悲しみの井戸』ができちゃった」「旧東欧­のユダヤ人の音楽に近い」「その頃世界中をおおっていたすべての危機にインスパイアされています」．．．．また手稿のスケッチには「05/06/05 Morricone (Sugihara's List)」という書き込みが．．．．"Sugihara"が「東洋のシンドラー」杉原千畝氏のことを指すことは疑いありません．なかなか意味深な曲です．
