http://www.v8tvshow.com - The driver side frame rail on our '68 Camaro had a big crack in the arch of the rail. Instead of trying to repair the rail in the car, we removed the old one and replaced with it an OER frame rail from Classic Industries. In this video, we show you the removal process, fitting the new piece, protecting the mating surfaces, and welding it in with our HTP MIG 200 welder.

  • I enjoyed the segment but was a little perplexed. Why not provide a weld all the way down each side of the frame rail for added strength? No need for all the drilling using that technique. Only the self tappers for adherence. By the way the weldable primer is a fantastic piece of attention to detail - especially on the area underneath the rail. We performed a similar job on an early (1966) mustang in our shop.

  • @vipexperformance We wanted to attach this one the same way the original rail was installed. This way, the rail looked original (matching the other side) and the repair was undetectable.
