As an author it saddens me that Caitlin McCarthy can write such wonderful, award winning work and not have them picked up by movie studios.

Caitlin McCarthy's an extraordinary talent who's running into the wall of nepotism surrounding Hollywood. It's so maddening when someone wins award after award and still can't get a foot in the door because they don't have a famous last name or a relative who does. Her scripts are truly outstanding and when some smart studio makes the movies I'll finally go to a theater again.

One of these days, the studios will wake up and purchase her scripts. Or else, an indie director or producer will beat them to the punch. It's just a matter of time.
