Nasty line twist on opening at Skydive Elsinore. Chopped. Thanks to Adam for the other video perspective and the spell checking. First reserve ride, first 7 cell ride, downsized (reserve smaller than main). I owe lots of beer.

  • I was there that day too... I saw you land. You looked really calm when you chopped. Good job! You were lucky that dude found your main and dropped it off at the DZ...totally great thing to do.

  • Yeah, that was really cool. He wouldn't take anything as a thank you. saved me a lot of money. Wish I could have found my freebag!

  • I was there that day. When we heard that there was a cutaway we were all wondering who it was. Glad you landed safely.

  • Thanks. It was my first and it is good to get it out of the way. Not worried about second guessing it at all.

  • was that a skyhook deployment, or a standard RSL?

  • Jesus H. Whatever tiny 0.001% thought I ever had of doing a skydive has vanished from watching these cutaway videos. Best of luck and all that but you guys are crazy!

  • Excellent chop! I'm still on dummy pulls, so hoping not to have to do this at 3,500!

  • What's the main?

  • Just out of curiosity. Did your smancy L&B Altitrack log first deployment AND second deployment data? Or, did it skip a beat & error out on the jump?

  • Wow! Do you know what your approx. altitude was?? These vids are good for educational reasons :) I came close last week in Perris on my check-dive when my brake line became entangled. I spun around about 6 times before I untangled it (according to eyewitness). Luckily, I was still at about 3,500 ft. You're right though, you got it out of the way and now you have Experience - damn straight! Blue Skies!
