Can't do Ebis slide glitch in Mystical Ninja

Trying to the Ebis slide in Mystical Ninja which allows huge portions of the game to be skipped. However, the speed I get from the slide doesn't seem as fast as the other videos on the site are getting


EDIT: Finally figured out how to do it

Press...
A for 1 frame
No input for 6 frames
Tilt stick between 20-40d*
No input for 1 frame
Tilt stick between 20-40d while pressing ^c

*It appears 75d is the minimum amount of tilt you need to achieve full running speed on the 0.6 TAS input. So you need to hold the stick somewhere between 26.6 to 53.3% of maximum tilt.

Also if you're planning on doing an improvement TAS for this game then use the Japanese version as there are several tricks that are either exclusive to that version or are faster on that version.

Something that helps me out is when I see Ebisumaru coming back towards the ground after the jump that's when I lightly turn back on the control stick and then I hit c up immediately after hearing his feet hitting the ground.

Yeah this trick is troublesome, it's the only reason I haven't been attempting the record.
