  • I was going to ask you what you do to minimize the risks, but it looks like you've answered that elsewhere on the page. Thanks for the reply

  • @carbonlaminate Thanks for your comment. I have been breaking for over 20 years now and I train with people who have been doing it considerably longer with no ill effects. There is, of course, a risk of injury in any activity, 'tennis elbow', 'puncher's knuckle', 'housemaid's knee'. My point is that with careful training and proper tuition these risks are minimal.

  • @RedhillTaekwondo Hello. I've always been impressed by breaking. However, like you all are discussing, there is danger of permanently damaging yourself. You say that you do not experience arthritis now, but wouldn't the effect be delayed?

  • @marioskoutroulos I'll try and video it tomorrow. Watch this space.

  • @RedhillTaekwondo I ve tried many times the bottle didnt break and it fuckin hurts.think that since there is not any such video in utube it must be a real hard task.on the other hand hundreds of videos with bats etc.if u post a video like this i d appreciate so much and u d be an inspiration for me to try to do it.Thanks in advance sensei

  • @RedhillTaekwondo I do not doubt about it but the cutting can be avoided easily by wraping a towel around the shin.Anyway i searched all over utube and didnt find a relevant video.have u spotted anything similar?

  • I 'm sure I could break a beer bottle with the shin. The main danger would be from cutting.

  • @RedhillTaekwondo I m wondering if it is possible to break a beer bottle over shin ,since i havent found a relevant video on the net.

  • I agree, take it slow is the best advice.

I can break 2 clay bricks with a forefist punch and I have no arthritic pain at all.

  • @RedhillTaekwondo : ive heard ppl say tang so do but they would call it chinese kung fu. weird how one little thing messes up EVERYTHING! lol
