Metallica used to be so fucking good. What happened to them?! Every album from Load on has just been a flaming pile of dog crap.

I'm not a hater, I love old-school Metallica, I've listened to Master of Puppets, Ride the Lightning, ...And Justice for All, Kill 'Em All, and of course this album, more times than I can count.

Such a shame. I wish I could bring the old Metallica forward in time to hear what they make these days. They'd probably kick their own asses for sucking so bad...

I never thought of them overly talented nor the greatest band in the world, but they did write some amazing music for their time... If only they'd go back to how they used to make music, maybe their new shit would actually be listenable.

@MegaMichkel Of course not, listen to the difference from Kill 'Em All to The Black Album, totally different sounds entirely, hell, every Metallica album has a different sound. The difference, of course, is that they're newer sound sucks. Even their sales reflect this: Kill 'Em All - 3x Platinum Ride the Lightning - 5x Master of Puppets - 6x Justice for All - 8x Metallica - 15x Load - 5x Reload - 4x St. Anger - 2x Death Magnetic - 2x It's over, Metallica has jumped the shark... :*(

Yeah RTL is a great album, they have those screams in Trapped Under Ice and Escape and a few other songs, and speed. And Creeping Death is a fuckin' master piece. I guess it depends on the mood, because sometimes I want to listen to Kill 'Em All more than anything. But imo Master is their best. AJFA is their most complex, and all RTL, MOP, and AJFA have irregular time signature usage as well as some good orchestration. I do like the raw fure of Kill 'Em All though. {:-)
