  • @glshearerjr For Tim, that may be true, however my superglide will hit the pavement on the right side because of the low pipes. I don't have much clearance and my lower muffler has many scratches. I remember Tim complaining to me that he hit his muffler too. He had a new bike and hated that. I do have a Royal Star Tour Deluxe, which is much like a Road King. I have never bottomed out or scraped my mufflers. I can throw that bike around almost as well as a sport bike. Each bike is different

  • Hey Peachy. Can't believe you are really serious about coming down to East Tennessee to ride The Dragon. Let me know your exact dates? Are you coming with anyone else?

  • @cashstore1 Sorry to correct you "cashstore1", but a Harley is very capable of slaying the dragon. Done it many, many times! The problem is not the Harley, but the Harley Rider. Its cool if you can't get the HOG down or up the dragon, but don't blame it on the bike. Tell your buddy there are many good classes that teach people how to handle a bike in the curves. My guess is your buddy does not ride the sport bike much better down the dragon that he/she did the Road King?

  • So you are going to the gap for some Dragon action. The Dragon is best on a sport bike. You may want to rent a Buell if you want to do the HD thing. There may be some left for rental. You can't go really fast in those curves on a Harley. They simply are not designed for it. The last time I went there my buddy took his Road King. He had such a hard time keeping with the rest of us he managed to lose control a couple times and nearly wrecked. When he got back home he bought two Buells.

  • @justpeachy14177 Oh that is awesome. Sounds like a fun and productive trip. Have a good time. :)

  • @ToastToGo I am going the middle of august.. there is a group going up on the 3rd for a 3 or 4 days but I am going to miss that : ( my daughter is starting college, and I am going to get her moved into so I get to kill to birds with one stone.. : ) i freakin' can't wait....
