  • I think, Lisa, that you are not seeing the positive effect of twitter with so few followers.

I market my twitter and facebook accounts. So the people that follow me and friend me, are the ones that want to follow me. I unfollow people all the time and edit my follows of those who are obviously not responding to my tweets, i.e. big marketers

And, I do see the traffic, from my stats, that come from twitter.

  • I didn't say I didn't see any positive results from Twitter. My point is that it has decreased over the past year. I also still get traffic from it.

  • oh sorry I didn't mean to put it in such absolutes.

I do notice something. There are people who market on twitter and they just spam, not saying you do this, I'm just relating a story. they'll post like 5 tweets in a row, all very dry and without any passion.

conversely, I'll think of the best hook for my tweets. I also have studied writing hooks in my blogs too. I see far more response in mine than those other people. People will click my link and give me immediate feedback on twitter

  • I agree about the spam. But you make a good point about your tweets. What you tweet and how you say it makes a difference. It's good to test and tweak your strategy and that seems to be what you're doing. Good for you! Keep up the good work. :)

  • I agree with you completely. Bounce traffic is worthless.

  • Well I dunno about you, but I really like twitter, regardless of the return traffic in clicks, I still a get good amount of people subscribing to my YT channel from twitter (15-35) everytime I decide to promote my page, also can make 200-350 new followers on twitter without much trouble where it is almost impossible for me to make the same amount of subscribers in a day with the current amount of traffic I have. Even though its only around 10% of my total engaged traffic, it helps a lot.

  • Hmm yeah lol

  • One of those people are going to click on my links, and one of them will click on ads. People take Twitter personally and get uptight about it. No need to cancel accounts and get emotional, just put it on auto-pilot and move on. Go back to tried and true marketing methods.

  • Hi

Great video, i just started with Twitter as a means to promote my website. I read an eBook on marketing with Twitter and it was recommended that you answer some questions people have to start off and get some followers.

But how can you find these questions other than searching for keywords and are there any other ways to kick start your Twitter following

  • Twitter was never made for marketing in the fist place. It was designed for nosy people to view whats happening with strangers.

  • nobody even bothers to mention myspace anymore lol. myspace is spam central.

  • great video

  • I would have to agree with you Lisa for the most part. Although twitter can drive a decent amount of traffic if done properly, I would say that investing too much time on twitter could be a waste. I have something like 23K followers right now....

  • I think google will put in an offer for twitter in the near future.

love your channel lisa, keep up the good work.
