When I was young, what I hated about Heavy Arms is that he was useless after his bullets and rockets, he was completely useless. I still don't like that about him but for someone who never figured out the concept of ammo conservation I have a lot more respect for this mobile suit.

@Beazt08 I'd like to point out that there are certain exceptions to that. In 08th MS Team, the Gundams get banged up pretty good a few times, and are only repaired using spareparts, such as a GM-head for one of them, but they're never destroyed completely (except if being badly damaged and left behind in a desert counts).

And generally, some Gundams tend to do actually survive their final battles. Strike Freedom, God Gundam, Nu. Heck, even the Arios and Cherubim from 00 survive mostly intact.
