There was something unique and offbeat about her voice..truly her own style..who couldn't love her? Magnificent in every way. Ms Stafford, if you can hear us...Bravo to a job well done.

Well said, Neptunesque! Thoughtful, insightful, intelligent, mature & sensitive remarks such as yours are appreciated so very much in these days. I too love these vintage episodes.....proof positive that vulgarity is NOT required for excellent entertainment! Hope ALL is well with you & yours too! :)

Hi,
Your comment prompted me to play my 78 rpm copy of "Shrimp Boats" and you are so right! This was a completely pure, natural voice and to have excelled at comedy recordings, pop and all things jazz, Miss Stafford was nothing short of gifted and unusually skilled.
I love seeing these segments of "What's My Line?" where everyone were held to a standard of not necessarily high, but basic class and poise.
Thanks and hope all is well
A darling woman, down to earth, a peerless artist. Forever remembered.

Loved seeing this clip of the great Jo. Wish she had spoken at the end, but nevertheless she came across as classy, smart, and nice. And what a singer she was! The best.
