  • Schaap's description of Christian's playing("looking relaxed while you're driving 235 mph......and you know you'll get there")is right on the money. For his time,Charlie was as cool yet technically advanced as anyone,on any instrument.

  • @bobbygoesbig Django of course !

  • not enough authentic meat provided in this feature, as usual, but anyway, let them gossip

  • As a kid i recall reading that C.C. 's technique was influenced by Lester Youngs tenor sax solos. Some say he was inspired by Eddie Durham. Charlie's sense of timing, his feel for Blues and his guitar tone is unique. T Bone Walker, Gatemouth Brown,Tiny Grimes, Oscar Moore,Bill Jennings,Billy Butler and hundreds more picked up on his sound.

  • gzhugh

  • spirit of jazz, spirit of c.c. it is the same thing ,first be bop musician, yeah great camon c. c. plug in and drive, smoke and drive ,good boy, yeah, lets go

  • @bobbygoesbig Not sure but I could imagine it beeing Wes Montgomery.Django Reinhardt, Joe Pass and George Benson also are genius Jazz Guitarists. The guitar definetly deserves more recognition in Jazz

  • Anyone know who the other guitarist in the jazz hall of fame is?

  • Hail Charlie
