my milk snake had the EXACT same reaction. She hated it at first, but warmed up to the water and eventually didn't want to get out.

@fatfortuna no, i took preventative action and covered the water jests in cello tape before i put him in there, otherwise i suspect he would have done :-/

how deep should the water be?

@MadamPeprika hi, it should not be deep, so the snake can easily sit on the bottom with it;s head above the water, this was about an inch deep.

My corn snakes is a little bit bigger than yours, ( pergaps 10 cm more) When will she be able to reproduce.

@diegotsqui if you are looking to breed please do plenty of research other than find out how old they have to be, and i mean ALOT of research.
