The public option IS the the compromise.

Trashing it now is Obama's way of signaling to the corporate community 'which side he's on' by spitting in the face of progressives. Classic DLC corporate Dem stuff.

The worst thing Plutonwolf is that the public options is not the same as single payer. Single payer was the only thing that will really work and what is sad is the very idiot teabaggers will be out there when it is too late yelling we want single payer. If there isn't a public option, the republicans with take away medicare or privitize and leave old people to die in the streets and we will be just like India and Pakistan. = 3rd world countries well accutally they will rank higher than us but no one will want to immigrate here.
