Too bad they aren't cheaper. I would love to experiment with something like this. So much potential for creative invention. I could teach my across the street neighbors parrot to tell jokes in weird accents.

I implied impossibly expensive when I should have said it's forbiddingly. The model I was looking at is over $700 which means it could be purchased but one would have to have a very good reason to shell out that much money when they could buy food or pay their rent instead. That keeps it out of the hands of kids, advertisers, and anybody else that wants to abuse the technology to con money from religious people or harass random passers by with rap music or screeching sounds into the left ear.

In all actuallity, this is NOT that expensive!!!! ATC sells these for less than $1000 commercially!!!! Its not the military version, however its commercially.... Others that sell similiar HSS technology is Audio Spotlight.

He must be installing them in stores or something. Those things are very hard to make and therefore more expensive than a person could buy :( I suppose that's a good thing since they have so much potential for abuse.
