What? The room full of tombs with the very important item on a pedestal at the far end is booby-trapped?! I am SHOCKED, sir.

Either which way, mission accomplished. Our hero quickly leaves this entirely-too-large crypt and heads on back to Whiterun to give notice to the Companions that their revered weapon is one piece closer to being whole again.
