i go through periods of hating and loving river song and going back and looking at this character knowing all that i do about her i can say that this one of most clever creations i've ever seen on tv ever, it's an absolute genius creation of steven Moffat, besides the doctor one of the more interesting characters on the show at the moment

If anyone is confused, know that Donna while she was being teleported was transferred as data into the harddrive of the library, generating a digital world for her. All the people that were killed by the shadows, if they were ghosting, the library picked up their signal and transferred them just like Donna, into the digital world. The swarms came in larger quantities because they came from the books, and from the wood used to make the paper.
