I'm reading his book now...hard to put down. It takes me back to the first time at was at Mountain Crossings on my very first hike on the AT at the age of 11 or 12 with my Dad and a man named Gerald Long..I think his trail name was Bigfoot. I think he has since passed. I will be taking my kids to visit in the next few weeks. Thank you Mr. Porter!
