03 July 2007 - WWII USAAF TSgt Richard Sargent's remains were DNA identified from a B-24 crash site in New Guinea. After 63 years MIA, Sargent's remains were flown into Cleveland Hopkins Airport (Ohio), then escorted to Girard, PA by various city and state police, military, as well as more than 100 motorcycle mounted Patriot Guard Riders. Fire and EMS crews, VFW's, Legionaires, and families lined bridges along I90, plus along the length of Rt20 from Conneaut Ohio, all the way through Girard.

  • My father was a fighter pilot in the Pacific.He flew a P51-Mustang. Saw things that haunted him for sixty years and he had a hard time talking about what exactly happened up until his death in November 2004. These men and women in World War ll were literally kids at the time and truly were American heroes.Extremely brave and they loved their country.Thank you all for waht you did!
