At Virtual World Conference 2008, held in Tokyo in late May, eitarosoft demonstrated a closed beta version of Lamity, a mobile phone-based 3D virtual world.
Currently downloadable from NTT DoCoMo handsets for free, the application enables a maximum of 400 people to get connected to a single town.
Sapporo Breweries and Square Enix have already decided to open stores through the Lamity service.
Lamity also features a function that creates unique avatars using facial parts and a function that allows up to four people to take part in an online game.
When the commercial service gets started, eitarosoft will reproduce the streets of Shibuya. The company also plans to reproduce the streets of various cities around the world.
By supporting Lamity on Android, google's mobile platform, eitarosoft intends to develop a global business with Lamity.

I like it, I think I'd prefer to do shopping online via this kind of interface.
