He is now...it used to be Peter. He could have a power just by being near someone with abilities...meaning he should've had all of Sylar's powers at one point...

Sylar is actually the most powerful heroe-- think back to the powers he has since season one-- Freezing, Atomic power, extensive hearing, regeneration (cant die) - telekinesis, paint future, manipulate illusions, able to detect lies, lightning, sound manipulation, more to come
