YOU can be the remote Administrator of your Droid - for FREE. "Android Lost" is not a service that runs and wastes battery, it is basically an administrative tool that allows you to locate your phone, wipe personal data, format your SD card, send audio alarms, text to speech messages, popup messages, lock or unlock it, take remote pictures, retrieve your SMS messages, your call list, your battery level, enable or disable your GPS and WiFi... AHHHH! And soooo much more. Why is this free?? Why didn't Google do this for us?

I don't know of any other app (at this time) that can remotely activate your Droid's GPS before it starts sending location data, OR any other app that you can PUSH to your phone AFTER it's been lost or stolen and still have total control over security... for FREE.

This "find my droid app" outperforms others like Seek Droid, LookOut Mobile Security, and Where's my Droid in so many ways. I've tested the GPS location, alarms, and lock features and they all worked perfectly.

  • I want to use this for my tablet. Will it work if I don't get wifi in a certain area but have my GPS on on my tablet?

  • @psfan3000 I am not the developer of the app, so I don't know for sure what is and isn't possible. You can read his FAQ on his website... but, there needs to be some sort of data connection for the app to send you emails (location, status, etc). If there is no data connection at the time the device is stolen or misplaced, the messages will be held and sent if/when it is turned on and connected to WiFi or something.

  • I think for some questions it would be best to ask the developer or check the FAQ on their website. I'm sorry that I don't have all the answers.

  • what happens if your phone is in a place without a signal?

  • @chr0nicForc3 If there is no signal (wifi, data, sms) then you'd be out of luck until there is signal again. There wouldn't be any app that could help you in that situation. Look at all of the information on AndroidLost(dot)com under GUIDE and FAQ; the developer has laid out pretty much every possible scenario.

  • I set this up on my phone, but when I went to the website and tried to do stuff for my phone, nothing actually happened. No SMS pop-up, no taking any pictures, no text to speech--nothing, even though the site was saying it was doing something.

  • Agreed. This is the BEST one I have seen so far.

I will gladly pay for this app.
