1987 Dodge Ram 5.9, 5 speed manual transmission.
How to spin the tires with no line lock and a stick shift.
This is one method. Left foot for clutch and right foot heel for brake and left toe for gas.

Is your motor stock? How long have been using the NV3500 and how's it holding up,?It's supposedly very tough but I kinda worry about mine.

All stock inside. Just headers and 4 barrel carb. Trans is used from a 140,000km truck. I've put about 30,000km. I never high rpm launch and always close throttle to shift. So far so good.

Did that truck originally have the NP435

4sp with the granny first gear? If so how much of a pain was it to put the Dakota 5spd in?

Was an auto. Trans from a 94 Ram 1500. Yes it was a pain. Hyd clutch, custom crossmember but I love the overdrive.

I have an NV3500 5 speed in my Silverado. Hard to believe that its the same exact tranny but with a different bell.
