This seems to be a major architectural change to their system, and from what Matt says, will make future changes a lot easier to implement. I suspect that they may have been feeling a little daunted about the task of undertaking any meaningful semantic updates...this may make that feeling fade considerably.
Hope so!
Realtime, though? I guess I'll have to see it to believe it.

'This is supposed to be a "do no evil" company? HA! Right.'

Unfortunately that stopped when they went Public!

What kills me is how Google accepts money from sham companies like these get-rich-quick scams we see. "Google Pays Me $5000 A Day" bull crap ads. Everyone knows those are LIES and those who dont get taken for all they have. This is supposed to be a "do no evil" company? HA! Right.

Sounds like a core rebuild to me - no real time or semantic enhancements yet... sigh :(
