Dr Amr Fawzy: IOL implantation with aniridia.wmv

A 9 ys old girl with bilateral aniridia and cortical cataract.
I performed an I/A with a foldable IOL implantation, in October 2010, at my hospital in Cairo.
The patient has a quite eye post operative, with an unaided BCV of 20/30.

why did u choose this sequenc in implanation i.e. iol was in the middle

is she suffering from glaucoma

Sir thank you very much, I am fluttered with this comment, fortunatly she is not suffering from glaucoma, and in the first surgery, I implanted the IOL first, then the rings, it was very difficult, as the haptics obstruct the advancement of the ring,

so I inserted the ring first then the IOL as I was affraid not to be able to implant at the end, and I used the first ring to avoid trauma to the ant capsule while inserting the second one. actually I think next time I will implant at the end.

Very nice surgery. I remember my first case. I implanted at first both aniridia implants, and thereafter the IOL.
