  • Great job.

  • What the point of throwing the weight up? You're cheating. Use less weight and use more muscle.

Doesn't matter how much weight is on the bar if you're throwing it up with your legs.

    This woman is retarded.

  • @wtfdudenotcool101 To add one more thing. If you notice I come down slower in the eccentric phase (lowering the weight) than in the "throwing up" phase or concentric phase. It has been proven that you gain more strength when you work both phases rather than just the concentric phase.

  • @SOHIFitness No point in arguing to be honest. Like you said what works for you and you're obviously doing ALOT of things right or you wouldn't be in the shape and condition you're in.

Good luck Megan and don't mind the bad words. I know they sound bad but I honestly didn't mean to offend. Just quick to type.

    Best of luck.

  • @SOHIFitness Well I wasn't suggesting that lighter weight builds muscle better than heavy weight. I think heavy weight/less reps builds more mass than lighter weight/more reps.

What was I suggesting is that that same weight in a military press would be much more difficult than the exercise you're using it in. Because it isolates your deltoids more than a power movement which uses momentum generated from your legs to essentially make the weight lighter for your shoulders.

  • @wtfdudenotcool101 Thanks for this comment which was a lot more intelligent than your previous two where you used the words retarded and b****.

  • @wtfdudenotcool101 This is and has been a controversial issue. While recent studies have shown that lifting lighter weights until muscle fatigue builds muscle, research has also shown that subjects using heavy weights demonstrated greater gains in muscle mass than those using lighter weights. The long and short of it is this: do what works for you. This is what I did to put on size prior to entering a fitness competition. It worked for me and has worked for others as well.

  • @SOHIFitness That still doesn't change the fact that what you are doing does not build mass in the shoulders.

You're trying to build your shoulders, not train for olympic lifting event right?

This exercise allow you to lift more weight above your head that you would if you were isolating your shoulders.

Military press at half that weight will build your shoulders more than this exercise...

  • Really good simple and easy to remember. Great form. ALoha
