Trailer for the 1995 anime omnibus film, 'presented' by Katsuhiro Otomo (who also directed the third and final segment). "Magnetic Rose", one of the shorts within the film was written by Satoshi Kon.

I used to obsess over this film. I saw this trailer online ages ago and felt I just had to find it. Everything about it seemed so different and intriguing, plus it looked similar to another anime I really liked: Manie-Manie: Labyrinth Tales. I bought several different fansub VHS tapes and own both an unofficial pirated DVD and the US DVD of it. I'm just waiting for the blu-ray now.

@agrippa9 The song is listed on the soundtrack as "End", but the real name of the piece is "Tu Tu Piccolo Iddio" from the opera "Madame Butterfly".

@torkuostar He has a very traditional view on power and the role of government in his films, yes. But he isn't oblivious to the element of the young generation, or the dying generations of old. So to say that is views are irrelevant would be a mistake.
