I have a 05 mk4 gli and also have the SCM and it works very nicely with the turbo and the R1 DV I have running!! Im currently looking at customizing a SRI myself though, as I like jus perfer that sound a lil better! the SWOOSH or whistle and spit sound! HA.... very nice DIY and vid though!!

sounds good thinking about doing it to my 05 gli
-
as sweet as this sounds, it sounds even better on a 1.8T :P and an aftermarket DV doesn't hurt either :P

Awesome man. I read your DIY on Jetta Junkie. It will work on a MKIV 1.8T amiright?

what kind of exhaust do you have, if any?
i only ask because i want to do this mod and want to know if it will take away or add to the sweet sound my magnaflow currently provides.

No, I do not have an exhaust of any kind. And as far I can tell, there shouldn't be any lose to the sound of your Magnaflow.

So ummm... are there any problems that could arise from doing the SCM? I was thinking about doing it but if it's going to throw a CEL or cause me to run lean I wouldn't want to... Should I disconnect (-) battery wire so my ECU resets to accompany the change in air flow?
Do you know of any problems this mod could cause... I don't think it could since it's more restrictive than a K&N filter, but still... I'd like to know now before I do it.

As far as I know I have never heard of this mod throwing up any sort of CEL's or causing any problems.
Effectively, this mod is the exact same thing as throwing a Short Ram Intake on the car.
I've been running it for well over 3 months now and nothing at all has happened that I would consider negative.
