@gorgolyt Well said! I so agree with you on all counts!

The closing is way too fast. I like the control. Overcall left hand can be less in order to bring out more of the melody and make it sound cleaner. Not enough romanticism and peotry.

Who is this kid? I swear to God, he looks and acts EXACTLY like myself!

I actually like his playing as Chopin is presented with poise and clarity, and free of maudlin emotions.

very niiice.

the middle section is NOT played too fast. the speed is ok. BUT: you should stress the climax more, more crescendo, more ritardando.
the ending, as far as i´m concerned, is plaeyd ridicoulously fast. you completely miss the revelation and farewell felleing of this great part. you just hurry through. what a pity.

" The middle section is way too fast, too fast to get the best of it. "
If you think Danny is wrong then you think Rachmaninoff is wrong (see his performance of the piece). I think that the middle section of this piece is the most difficult to play 'convincingly' but I feel like Mr. Evans did a more than satisfactory job.
For all the critics from the NY Times who post comments; for a concert soloist, there's simply no such thing as "...you should play it this way, or that way", since every musician does their own thing...and that's regardless of a written score.

@desertdawg41 sorry dude but people are allowed opinions, and it is certainly possible to misinterpret a piece of music...
