Who cares who's version is best - isn't it better to see the message here - war is nearly always a disaster and the war in Iraq was super shameful. As someone said, this is a terrific song no matter who sings it

Such a simple song, but it says so much. And Guns and Roses version is NOT the best, as much as I love them, and neither is Avril's, as much as I respect her. Dylan's is and always will be the best. But this is a cracking cover. Merry Christmas

I'm a fan of Bob Dylan but I prefer Avril Lavigne's version... In my opinion it's better than Axl Rose's. I think it's because of the vocal. I really like her voice.
