Washington County Sheriff Donnie Smith was one of several Maine Sheriffs that attended a lecture by Arizona's legendary Sheriff Richard Mack. Sheriff Mack sued the federal government over the Brady Bill and the supreme court ruled in his favor saying that the federal government may not compel a state to enact or enforce a federal regulatory program. Sheriff Smith discusses Obamacare, foreclosures and the "so called war on drugs".
I am so impressed with this Maine Sheriff Donnie Smith. We need more like him and Sheriff Mack. Maybe we have a chance of winning this battle with our own government by way of our sheriffs. Let's see now, Sheriff Joe, Sheriff Mack, Sheriff Smith... and the beat goes on.

The Sheriff may be America's last hope in times of tyranny. Sheriff Smith understands his role. He answers to the people not to the federal government. The supreme court ruled in the Mack case that the federal government may not compel a state to enact or enforce a federal regulatory program. That is cut and dry but still takes state officers with courage to stand strong for local control. Glad to read in the Bangor Daily News that other Maine Sheriffs were there at Sheriff Mack's seminar.
