http://www.solarwave.at will be the first solar-powered catamaran to make a circumnavigation of the globe to prove solar as viable method for solar for transportation & living. The boat will be powered by 8.42kW of Kioto and 2.4kW Day4systems solar panels with 2 x 420Ah 48V and 2 x 190Ah 12V Hawker Powersafe battery bank energy storage and propelled by 2 Aquawatt 10kW 3-phase electric motors and for backup 2 4 kW Torqeedo electric outboard motors.
how far can it go on a charge , because I know that is not enough solar to direct drive the system,
I always like to see someone come up with a new concept, can you run air conditioning

can they store the wind somehow - to go by sail without wind? cokking and freezing with the wind? Maybe producing water with the wind? We can! However - we solarsailed the last 3500 miles without fuel - can you show me any sailingboat in the world, that sails with 6 guests - everyday in an new port or bay, including cooing, freezing and auirconditionm, electric bike and outboard for the dinghy, washingmachine ..... - without using one drop of fuel - for 3500 miles????

@SolarwaveCatamaran What you said is a little puzzling. Sailing boats can go with no fuel all the time if there is wind. Even at night!

This boat needs no sail - whatfor? During the last 3500 Miles it used only solarenergy - NO FUEL - show me one sailingboat, that "sailed" this distance without fuel! And the panels are still on its place!

unbelievable but true - there are boats without sail - people call them "motorboat" or powerboat. This is an electric motorboat - as fast as a sailingboat - even without wind.

Is it just me or does the solar panel look ripe for lift on with a good gust... What happened to the sail?
