This was the second flight. The first flight actually went pretty well even though it had an aft CofG. It is repairable so it will fly again in about 2 weeks. CofG is actually at 115cm with zero fuel and gear up. UPDATE 14 Sept: nearly fixed!

  • 3:08 what are you guys saying??

  • he said "too slow Keith"

  • beautiful plane. hope to see it fixed!

I don't think the crash was due to an early takeoff though. It got off the ground early yes but the pilot held it in the air long enough to double the takeoff distance. By that time it should not have tip stalled. It was probably a combination of aft CG and one motor revving higher than the other. After you "unsung" it you should have tried revving it up again to check.

  • Cause was full elevator held for too long and got airborne too early. Yes it was more of a case of overcontrol on trying to recover and a snap roll as a result. She is being rebuilt by someone else and it will fly again. CofG was about 5cm aft of neutral but nothing too drastic. Cheers

  • nice plane pity to see a flight end like this

  • I am trying to get it ready for this weekend! Just need about one spare hour to finish the undercarriage mod. Nearly there....

  • too much elevator throw

  • Sorry about your plane! Sure was a beautiful bird, Was you able to fix it? Sure hate to see a plane crash so much work goes into one!

  • you gotta love a low altitude snap roll on a warbird stick to trainers

  • @noonedude101 lol, not a lie just a misslead opinion I'd heard roumors that the P-51 was the fastest. Ah well, my mistake. ^_^

  • @mastermalpass Oh, the Mosquito was rather rugged compared to other British planes.

  • @noonedude101

The Me-262, Me-163, Ar-234, and He-162 were the fastest planes to see combat in the war.

  • @noonedude101

The P-38 was faster than the Mosquito.

  • @mastermalpass

Lie. The Mossy was far faster than the Mustang in level flight. The P-47 was also faster in level flight than the Mustang. As was the F4U Corsair and the P-38.

The Mustang's claim to fame was certainly NOT speed.

  • @noonedude101 Fighter Bomber. The Mossy was built as a strike craft really. Fastest plane in WW2 until the P51 came and topped it, Then Germany made jet planes.

The mosquito had two engines but it's body was made almost entirely out of wood, fragile but so light it was fast as a bullet.
