Those were primitive times indeed but well photographed from so many angles. It may have seemed cool but when the weather was bad you still had to walk out on the tarmac to your waiting plane. Most of us today would hesitate boarding these antiquated propeller aircraft that took forever to arrive at one's destination with several stops in between. At least we weren't subject to TSA pat-downs and other airport gropes of today.

It is interesting to look back to old Hong Kong. Everything are full of momery especially the special turn before landing on runway 13

because back then planes were small !! and there were no towns close to air port

Kai Tak was the best airport! Chep Lap-Kok is more modern, allows for more traffic and is probably safer, but can never be as cool as Kai Tak!
