i have a 272 that runs god but the valvtrain wiped right out of it... i ran an old oiler kit that pluggs into the rear of the rails. it worked good till the pass side got pinchd off. i replaced the small copper line with 1/4" fuel injection hose but drilled the valve covers and ran into the over flow tubes.this thing will fill the valve cover right up now and the smoke is insane... i have to figure out a happy medium

First off...that thing sounds wicked...second that was way cool running a Y block at 4K on a stand...wow

I've done the same with mine when I rebuilt it my just pinching down the overflow tubes. I gained about 10-12 lbs. of pressure and never had any problems with this. Michael

That was VERY cool!
my 292 only wishes it could get that much oil to the top end... When I got my truck it hadnt run since 96' so I drained what oil was in it, and put in new oil. When I pulled off the valve covers to adjust the rockers it was almost completly dry even after running so I ran a couple quarts of atf in the oil for a few hours and it cleaned everything up and it gets more up there but not as much as id like. How did you do that?

Look at my other videos, I have one that runs through the rocker rebuild process.

Wow! Finally, we're getting all of the bugs worked out of the old Y-block after being ignored for years. And see? It's not such a bad engine afterall!
Now, if someone could import some of those Argentine L II heads and intakes... Or, someone could reproduce them in aluminum. That would be nice. But is there enough interest in such products?

You would also need a cam to go with those heads, from what I've been told Argentina has real tight restrictions on what comes into and what leaves the country. But you can still dream ;-)
