how to fix the red ring of deth

i was on halo 3 on me bros halo xbox 360 and i shut it down cos it was tea time when i switched it back on we had the red ring so i eboted and still we had the ring so i decied to put a 99p fan behind it to cool it down to sea if this would fix it and it did were now back on halo 3 killing things btw we had 3 of the 4 bars red

It might have been because it was on the floor and conducted the heat a bit more. Try standing it upright or putting it on a higher surface.. well done for fixing it though!!
