At nine months old, Brooke Wallace looks exactly like the Gerber baby. It's hard not to fall in love with her chubby cheeks and bright blue eyes. She laughs and plays like any other newborn, but the long scar across her tummy tells a different story.

This year will be Brooke's first Christmas, and in a way she is a Christmas miracle. When Brooke was five weeks old, she was diagnosed with a rare liver disease called biliary atresia. One in 15,000 infants is diagnosed with it. The cause of the disease is not known and there is no cure.

  • What a wonderful thing that baby's aunt did for her!

  • wow first of all what an amazing aunt...

and second of all it is so true about God giving us trials to work through. Everyone loves God when he gives good to us, but what about the bad? I've had many sicknesses in my life and he's helped me through every one.

  • This is an awesome story! I wish them all the best.
