This is an unseen alternative introduction to the film adaptation of George Orwell's prophetic novel, "1984".

Sometimes I wonder what's truth and what isn't. Then I look at youtube comments and *sigh*, people will believe anything and then when nobody else shares that thought they claim we're brain washed sheep. 9/11 was not a government conspiracy. Now to every American out there. How would you react if someone were to spit ,light fire and say they hate the star spangled banner?To me a lot of Americans prove to me that the star spangled banner is Big Brother. All their love and patriotism is reflected by it. All of the United States is reflected by it. So that makes it big brother. People can hate presidents,other people,foreign enemies,and many other things. But the one thing you cannot hate is the star spangled banner.

The whole idea behind the hatred of Goldstein was to give the masses a vent. The fact that Goldstein didn't even exist further exaggerates the fact that the whole state is being controlled by newspeak and the thought police.

Good book, good film, I like the clever editing here. It's a bit contrived but it works.
