This beautiful piece of music from Francisco Tarrega, Memories of the Alhambra is played here by Canadian, Manfred Harter, whom I have had the pleasure to meet and who has played many wonderful arrangements for me. I knew nothing of the Alhambra, but as was the case with a previous piece of Manfreds music, Mystery of Tikal, I wanted to know what it was that inspired him to choose this piece.
The Alhambra is a palace and fortress complex in southern Spain. It sits on a hilly terrace on the southeastern border of the city of Granada. Once the residence of the Muslim kings of Granada and their court, it was designed to reflect the very beauty of Paradise itself, with its gardens, fountains, streams, palace, and a mosque, all inside a fortress wall. It is now one of Spain's major tourist attractions.

  • @TheManfred44 Thank you for commenting Manfred, and thank you for allowing me to use your wonderful music. As you can see, it is appreciated by many. ~~ Lynn

  • Manfred is masterful on this piece, he plays with such passion and grace! Well done Manfred Harter! I had the pleasure of hearing him in the Okanagan Valley of Canada 14 years ago.

  • Then we've both been blessed to have heard him play, and in the Okanagan Valley, though for me it was more recent. Thank you for your comment. ~~ Lynn

  • @MyLaydy My Father Was a very lucky man who actually got to play with Manfred Harter a long time ago about 16 years ago

  • @locktok123 I hope you were there to witness and enjoy them playing together. Thank you for your comment.

  • Hi My Lady...... Thank you for keeping me alive, still. Most kind and thoughtful. Just wanted you to know I have escaped from my pen and gone and done some strange things. Have decided to write a "Canadian" song and a tribute to Holly and Buddy Knox, as I met him before he passed.... Change Over Me, and 2 Holly songs....aven though I am not a real singer, sigh....and the beats go on. Arigato!

  • To My Lady.

I wonder if you have had a view of some of Manfred's other strange music activities thru u tube and ... "Ancient Arts....". Life in the Okanagan Is quite pleasant... I will try to stay in touch,

    Manfred, again.

  • I pay no mind to the pictures/videos because it takes my attention away from this wonderful performance ! The music seemingly plays itself (beautifully) through you. I'm impressed.

  • @MyLaydy Unfortunatley I wasn't but i can imagine it would have been marvelous!
