Chita leads the ensemble in the title song from the 1964 musical Bajour, choreographed by Peter Gennaro.

Ignore the casual racism in the lyrics (it was the early 60's, after all) and look for Paul Sorvino, Leland Palmer (All that Jazz, Pippin), and future legend Michael Bennett in the ensemble.

  • Even though the show wasn't successful as other Chita Rivera musicals ie: "Bye Bye Birdie", "West Side Story", "The Rink" or "Kiss of the Spider Woman", she shines in everything that she does. A true theatrical marvel!!!!

  • Ahuu, devastating, worthy of the greats choreographers.I load the dance number by Peter Gennaro from "The unsinkable Molly Brown".

  • The old "Entertainers" show, right? Herschel Bernardi sang this in the actual show. If you want the lyrics, why not get the entire show? Just look for "Bajour" by Walter Marks, at the Internet Theatre Bookshop or other bookstores. It's the paperback version used by theatrical companies who still revive this one. The show got a weekend revival in NYC 2 yearas ago with the great Mr. Marks himself attending a performance.

  • where can i find the lyrics to this?

  • I meant to ask: Can someone please point out Michael Bennett?

  • Chita Rivera: dancer, singer, actor extraordinaire, and above all, professional.

  • GREAT if only we culd find some footage of her in WSS

  • Bless you RyanGlitter! See Genaro referencing his chory in 'America'. And these dancers ROCK! 1964 peeps! That would have been a run off stage and find a bucket routine. All those turns at the end. oyvay...I mean OLE!

  • No one works a skirt or camera as well!

  • I had no idea...this rocks!
