On the eve of the Beijing 08 Summer Olympics, August 7, 2008, the Candle For Tibet initiative organized the biggest light protest on earth. Over 100,000,000 people from more than 150 countries agreed to light candles for freedom in Tibet. Tibet's leading musician Yungchen Lhamo opened the candle light vigil in New York City with songs for freedom in Tibet, igniting prayers for peace and a real solution to the China-Tibet problem all over the world.
This is only the beginning. On August 23, 2008, Candle for Tibet again united millions from the four corners of the globe who join in solidarity with Tibet's struggle for human rights. One world—one dream—Free Tibet now.
